SPEAKER HASTERT, CHAIRMAN PHILLIPS PRESENT "EARLY MONEY" CONTRIBUTIONS TO HOUSE FRESHMEN
On November 21, House Speaker Dennis Hastert joined NCCF Chairman Tom Phillips at the offices of the National Repulican Congressional Committee to present "early money" contributions to 10 first-term Congressmen who won by narrow margins in 2002 or who are expected to face strong challenges in 2004. Earlier , NCCF's Board of Directors had authorized the maximum legal amount to each of the 10, mindful of the fact that history shows time and again that early campaign money often make the difference between victory or defeat.
