The NCCF Board of Directors has authorized the maximum allowable contribution of $5,000 each for nine new conservative Congressmen elected by close margins in 2002 and expected to face strong challenges from the liberal Democrats. NCCF's "early money" contributions will help these freshman Congressmen with a head start in getting ready for the tough campaigns that lie ahead in 2004.
They are:
| Bob Beauprez (CO), elected in the closest House race in the nation.
| Max Burns (GA), the Dems' #1 target, elected in a district drawn for a Democrat.
| Chris Chocola (IN), who won with 50% of the vote in a Democrat-leaning district.
Jim Gerlach (PA), elected with 51% of the vote in a newly drawn district.
| Phil Gingrey (GA), winner in a close race in a majority-Democrat district.
| John Kline (MN), one of only two Republicans to oust an incumbent in 2002.
| Steve Pearce (NM), won hard-fought race in a district the Democrats expected to take.
| Rick Renzi (AZ), targeted for defeat in a district Democrats claim should be theirs.
| Mike Rogers (AL), a winner with 50% of the vote in a highly competitive district.
